Have you recently decided that you would like to take a Big Island, Hawaii fishing trip? If you have, you are definitely not alone. While Hawaii is filled with destinations that are perfect for fishing, the Hawaiian Island of Big Island is referred to as one of the most popular.
When looking to make your Hawaii travel arrangements, for your Big Island fishing trip, you will want to start with your airline reservations. You will need to make reservations aboard a Hawaii airline. When doing so, you may want to examine online travel websites, particularly those that deal with Hawaii vacations. This enables you to eliminate much of the research and just find a flight that can get to your Big Island fishing destination.
In addition to making your Hawaii airline reservations, you will also need to make arrangements for your overnight accommodations. Although your first thought may be to book a stay at a traditional hotel or a vacation resort, you may want to take the time to examine Hawaii vacation rentals. Hawaii vacation rentals come in a number of different formats, including Hawaii villas, condos, homes, and apartment rentals. In fact, did you know that many Hawaii vacation rentals are considered beachfront rentals? Even if you are unable to book a stay at a Big Island beachfront rental, many Hawaii vacation rentals still provide you with ocean views.
Once you have officially booked your Hawaii travel plans, namely the reservations for your air travel and your overnight accommodations, you will want to shift your focus to the fishing aspect of your vacation. When planning a Big Island Hawaii fishing trip do you know that you have a number of different options, in terms of how you can fish? You do and a few of your options are briefly touched on below.
If you have a boating license or at least proof of a completed training course, you may be able to rent your own fishing boat or sail boat. This is an option that many tourists enjoy. Perhaps, the only downside to this approach is the trouble or the ?red tape,? that you may have to go through. Most boat rental companies and boat owners will not just hand over the keys to their boats to anyone. With that in mind, if you are able to successfully rent a boat for your next Big Island fishing trip, you may enjoy the peace, quiet, and freedom that you have.
Another one of your options is to charter a boat. When you charter a boat, you will be passengers on the boat in question and have full use of it, but you will not be responsible for driving or navigating. Even when chartering a boat for your next Big Island fishing adventure, you have a number of different options. For example, you may be able to make reservations aboard a privately chartered fishing boat or a group chartered boat.
In keeping with chartering a fishing boat, if you are looking for peace, quiet, and relaxation, a private chartered fishing boat may be your best option. On the other hand, if you are more concerned with price, a group chartered boat may be your best option, as the rates tend to be a bit more affordable. You may also want to examine additional activities, such as snorkeling or scuba diving. Many Big Island boat chartering companies offer multiple activities aboard their vessels. This is great if you are traveling with your family or another couple, as everyone may gain access to an activity they enjoy.
Finally, it is important to examine supplies. Depending on your fishing supplies, you may be unable to bring them with you on your trip. You may need to rent instead. With that in mind, you may find that the cost of a chartered fishing boat included supplies, such as fishing poles. If not, you may want to rent fishing supplies for your whole trip and store your supplies in your Hawaii vacation rental. This will give you the opportunity to come and go fishing as you please, even if it isn?t aboard a boat.

discount fishing reels and More Rio Bonefish Fly Line
The demands of bonefishing require a balance of long and short casts with precise presentation. RIOâs Bonefish line does just that, starting with a medium-length front taper to improve turnover without sacrificing presentation, and a slightly longer back taper to smooth out the casting loop. The tropical AgentX coating combined with a Powerflex single-strand monofilament core and the new Extreme Slickness (XS) Technology results in longer casts and a line that will not wilt in most extreme tropical conditions. With AgentX, the line floats higher than competitorsâ lines, is easier to pick up off the water, and unlike competing products the running line will not sink and tangle while wading. G. Loomis RoaringRiver Stinger Spey Rods (Scandinavian Style)
So what's the big deal about the way we SCANDINAVIANS get our Spey cast out there? Since its beginnings in the 1960's, Scandinavian influence from top tournament casters and fishermen, schooled on famous Salmon/Sea trout rivers of Sweden and the west coast of Norway, have played a major role in the development of our highly versatile style. Our style provides tremendous distance, depth and presentation control, all with minimal effort. We use a looped Shooting Head line, available in differing densities, ranging in length from 34 to 42 feet depending on rod length along with thin diameter shooting line. Teamwork from a fast butt hand stroke and relative short upper hand stroke, ( overall about half the movement of traditional style casting ), a sudden stop to unload, forms narrow loops that can slice bread. These very narrow loops help make very long casts turn right over. This style cast is most effective with faster taper, yet very light rods. Enter G.Loomis STINGER SERIES two-hand rods. These rods have just the right action, a powerful butt transitioning smoothly to a fast tip that will deliver the razor loops characteristic of the Scandinavian method of spey casting. Our style will keep you on the water longer, a smile on your face, and without a case of the "jelly arms." For the needs of the SCANDINAVIAN style of casting, we offer the ROARINGRIVER STINGER series. With eight rods, ranging from 12'6" to 15', these rods were designed to optimally cast floating or intermediate shooting heads of 33 to 46 ft. This is the most recent development in two-hand casting, a much faster, shorter stroke using the lower hand (underhand casting). These rods help you generate high line speed and give you great shooting distance casts. With a fast action taper, these rods let you make overhead false casts, generating the highest line speed possible. That's assuming you have sufficient room for back casting, such as gravel bar or ocean beaches. STINGER GLX - At first glance you'll notice the nickel titanium recoil guides by REC, which are different both in looks and function. Weighing about as much as one individual traditional guide, the total weight of the rod is noticeably lighter. They're also flexible, making a mistake like catching a tree branch, nothing but a slight hang up. Exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles with a special composite cork end-cap and fore-grip fitted to our exclusive offset-oval sculptured our proprietary GLX graphite tapered to the exact standards of Scandinavian style casting. STINGER ALTA - These rods help you generate very high line speed thanks to a special graphite blend formulated for a fast action. With premium Hopkins and Halloway components and beautiful Portuguese cork handles, the Alta offers everything you could want for Scandinavian style casting. RoaringRiver Stinger Spey Rods (Scandinavian Style) Series Model Color Line Weight Power Taper Price FR15078-3 GLX Highlander Green 7-8 Med-Stiff Fast $730 This rod is for smaller rivers and gentle presentations. Don't be fooled however, it will deliver the long cast, and land a strong fish when challenged. FR15089-3 GLX Highlander Green 8-9 Med-Stiff Fast $740 For all size rivers, these models are utility players capable of handling wind, rain, longer casts and bigger flies and fins. The heavier line will help stabilize the swing and hold depth in faster water. At just 12'6" it still feels very light in hand, and is a vary capable "Overhead" casting rod should backcast space open up, and the urge to cast this way takes over. FR15089-3 Alta Chestnut Brown 8-9 Med-Stiff Fast $450 For all size rivers, these models are utility players capable of handling wind, rain, longer casts and bigger flies and fins. FR15689-4 Stinger GLX Highlander Green 8-9 Med-Stiff Fast $795 One of the most popular Scandinavian rods for G.Loomis in the past has been the 13 foot #8/9 GLX - 3 piece. The 1568/9-4 is a reincarnation in a 4 piece version, along with the improvements in guides, reel seats, and in the beautiful Highlander Green blank coating. The action is just slightly more smooth than the 12'6 or 14' series, and can be used in a wide variety of casting styles. If one rod could do it all in spey casting and fishing, this is an eager candidate. FR150910-3 GLX Highlander Green 9-10 Med-Stiff Fast $750 Powerhouse little rods. These guys are for heavy flies and good size fish in all but the most demanding distance situations. The heavier line may actually reduce the need for you to over stress to make a long cast.
